About Our Oak Sideboards
A sideboard earns its place in any dining room. It stores plates, glasses, cutlery, and table linens while giving you a surface for serving food or displaying decorative pieces. Our solid oak sideboards are built to handle daily use for decades, not years.
Choosing the Right Size
Small sideboards (under 100cm) suit compact dining rooms or as secondary storage. Two doors, enough for essentials without dominating the space.
Medium sideboards (100-150cm) are the most popular choice. Three doors with a mix of shelves and drawers cover most storage needs.
Large sideboards (150cm+) suit bigger dining rooms or families with more to store. Four doors give you room for a full dinner service plus table linens and extras.
Measure your wall space and allow 10-15cm clearance either side for visual balance. Check the depth too, typically 40-50cm, to ensure it won’t block walkways.
Storage Features
Drawers keep cutlery and smaller items organised. Most sideboards include at least two or three drawers alongside cupboard space.
Adjustable shelves let you configure the interior for taller items like vases or shorter stacks of plates.
Wine racks built into some models store bottles horizontally at the right angle. Handy if you don’t have a separate wine storage solution.
Finishes
Natural oak shows the grain and develops character over time. Complements wooden dining tables and chairs.
Painted oak in off-white, grey, or cream gives you colour options. Many feature natural oak tops for a two-tone look that breaks up solid colour.

Sideboards vs Dressers
Not sure which you need? Sideboards are lower units with a flat top surface, ideal for serving. Dressers add an upper display section with shelves or glass doors, better for showing off china or glassware. If wall height allows and you want display space, consider a dresser. If you prefer a cleaner look with usable surface, a sideboard is the better choice.
