Desk Styles

Computer desks are designed for modern home working. Space for a monitor, keyboard, and usually a drawer or two for supplies. Simple, functional, and available in various widths.

Pedestal desks offer more storage with drawers or a cupboard built into one or both sides. The traditional choice for a proper home office setup.

Corner desks make use of awkward spaces and give you a larger work surface without dominating the room. Good for L-shaped layouts or rooms where the desk can’t go against a flat wall.

Bureaus hide your workspace when not in use. The fold-down front closes to conceal clutter, perfect if your office is also a living space.

Choosing the Right Size

Minimum comfortable desk width is around 100cm for a monitor and keyboard. If you need space for paperwork alongside your screen, look at 120cm or wider.

Depth matters too. Standard is 50-60cm, but deeper desks (70cm+) give you more room to push your monitor back to a comfortable viewing distance.

Standard desk height is 72-75cm. Most people find this works well, but check your chair adjusts to match.

Finishes

Natural oak brings warmth to a home office. The wood grain adds character and looks professional on video calls.

Painted oak in off-white or grey suits lighter, more contemporary spaces. Solid construction with a softer look.
