We’re always excited to add a new pine furniture range to our collection and the Plank Pine range is no different.
When you think of pine furniture, chances are you think of tacky welsh dressers and cheaply made bedroom furniture. For many years, pine furniture was a cost effective way of furnishing a house or flat for rental, and for the most part it was confined to student bedsits for all eternity.
However in recent years furniture designers and manufacturers have taken a fresh look at pine. As a wood, pine is quick to grow; this means pine is cost effective, cheap, and most importantly, sustainable. By rethinking the approach to pine furniture designers have been able to move away from traditional looks and create more attractive pieces. Resulting in ranges which are both appealing in price and have a reduced environmental impact.

The Plank Pine range fits this bill perfectly. It is constructed from roughly sawn, hand waxed pine plank to create a modern and rugged look a million miles away from the stereotypical chintzy image normally associated with this wood.
Comprising of heavily squared posts and thick, luxurious tops, the new range has a distinctive appearance designed to fit modern homes. The rustic yet industrial appearance of the wood is complemented with heavy cast metal handles, creating a sturdy, masculine look.
